Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at McPherson Unified School District 418. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing students' functional physical development levels, planning and implementing appropriate therapeutic interventions, and providing recommendations for accessibility and program development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess fine and gross motor skills of students, including perceptual-motor, hand functions, motor coordination, sensory development, and muscle strength.
  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans, services, and educational materials to remediate students' motor skill deficits.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide occupational therapy services and support.
  • Identify and adapt the environment to meet the physical or sensory needs of students.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to develop daily living skills in compliance with established goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Kansas Board of Healing Arts License.
  • Experience working with students with special needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:

The Occupational Therapist will work in a school environment, with occasional travel to multiple work sites. The job requires 20% sitting, 75% walking, and 5% standing. The job is performed under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
