Position Summary:
We are seeking an OSP Field Engineer to join our Engineering Department. This role involves significant fieldwork and office responsibilities, ensuring the successful completion of various projects, including facility build-outs and maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop precise project plans and manage them from initiation to completion, ensuring efficiency and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and construction contractors to meet project deadlines.
- Conduct site visits to document job progress and address any arising issues.
- Maintain accurate records in the project tracking system and ensure proper closure of projects.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the design and development of outside plant installations, modifications, and upgrades.
- Conduct surveys and job costing activities, providing estimated costs based on pre-design modeling.
- Support permitting processes with relevant agencies and oversee construction activities.
- Manage the logistics of remote site materials, ensuring safe storage and accurate tracking.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Google Maps/Earth, AutoCAD, ESRI, Adobe Acrobat, Nitro Pro, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications practices and construction services.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Capability to interpret legal land descriptions and easement agreements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- 1-5 years of experience in Telecom project management is preferred.
- High School diploma required; an Associate degree is a plus.
- Familiarity with CAD, ESRI, and Microsoft Office is essential.
