Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elementary Lead Teacher to join our team at Public Preparatory Network. As an Elementary Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for leading a team of educators in delivering high-quality instruction and creating a supportive learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruction and Preparation
    • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
    • Use data-driven approaches to inform instruction and drive student outcomes.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve instructional strategies.
  • Relationship Building and Student Support
    • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes social-emotional growth and academic achievement.
    • Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues to foster a sense of community and support.
    • Use restorative practices to manage conflicts and promote positive behavior.
  • Family and Community Engagement
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with families through regular communication and collaboration.
    • Provide families with resources and support to help them engage in their child's education.
    • Participate in school-wide initiatives to promote family engagement and community involvement.
  • Professional Responsibilities
    • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
    • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Master's degree in the relevant content area or related field (preferred).
  • New York State Certification for relevant grades and content area, or demonstrated process towards receiving reciprocity for certification from other states.
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated success as a full-time elementary classroom teacher.
  • Demonstrated success working in a high-performing, urban school setting (preferred).
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to single-gender education and the mission of Public Preparatory Network.
