We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at St. Mark Catholic Preschool. As a Preschool Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 18 months to 5 years old.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome each child upon arrival, ensuring a smooth transition into the school day
Provide a safe and engaging environment that promotes social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development
Recognize and respond to the unique needs and interests of each child
Assist the classroom teacher in implementing the curriculum and gathering necessary supplies
Participate in rotating responsibilities, such as setting up or putting away playground equipment
Conduct safety checks on equipment, toys, and furniture to ensure proper working order
Assist with bathroom needs, including diapering, toilet training, and caring for ill or injured children
Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, adhering to state licensing guidelines
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
18 years of age or older
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including attending workshops for Continuing Education as required by state licensing rules
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with young children, adults, and parents
Ability to lift 30-40 pounds and conduct activities involving substantial standing, walking, and moderate sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, twisting, and reaching on a frequent basis
Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and commitment to promoting the mission and values of St. Mark Catholic Preschool
