Chief Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead our Estimating Department with accurate and timely execution of the entire estimating process. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Heavy Civil construction work, including regional specific means/methods for construction.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the overall cost of construction projects.
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand project requirements.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other team members to identify value engineering opportunities.
- Prepare and present comprehensive and accurate bid packages.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as necessary.
- Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and industry best practices.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of project schedules and deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management, and a minimum of 15 years of preconstruction/estimating and/or operations experience in heavy-civil projects.
- Minimum of 5 years in leadership roles within an Estimating Department as a dedicated Estimator, such as Chief or Senior Estimator.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Adobe, Bluebeam, Primavera P6 scheduling, and MS Project.
- Knowledge of electronic solicitation software such as SmartBid and electronic bidding software such as AASHTOWare for DOT bidding.
