Job Summary

Navarro Research and Engineering is seeking a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our team in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As a Structural Design Engineer, you will provide critical support to our CNS, Mission Engineering team, working on facility and production area activities in Cat 2, 3/Non-Nuclear and Balance of Plant facilities and Backbone Infrastructure Utilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop design output documentation to support minor facility modifications, including drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, and other relevant documents.
  • Familiarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1) and CSA-related issues, including non-reactor nuclear facilities, natural phenomena events, structural rehabilitation, and building evaluations.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and plant organizations to produce timely design output.
  • Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable, requiring an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design engineering.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
  • Willingness to work in a production environment.
  • DOE Q Clearance preferred, but not required to start.
  • US citizenship is required due to government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements.
