We are seeking a highly skilled Simulation Specialist to join our team at ChristianaCare. As a Simulation Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and administering simulation technology and sessions used in the Virtual Education and Simulation (VEST) Center.
Your primary focus will be on facilitating the use of simulation for education, performance improvement, research, and equipment evaluation. You will also be responsible for maintaining and updating the simulation center's database, developing simulation scenarios, and managing simulation activities.
In addition, you will collect data on the effectiveness of simulation for student learning, critical thinking, and clinical decision making. You will also develop and deliver methods to evaluate student and facilitator satisfaction with departmental and simulation center programs.
As a Simulation Specialist, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with Simulation Technical Assistant, Simulation Technology Specialist, and coordinators to program patient care simulators, prepare scenario props, and create scenario moulage. You will also set up, operate, and manipulate patient care simulators, related media, and computer equipment.
You will assure student compliance with center policies, procedures, and safety standards. You will also support the short-, immediate, and long-term teaching, research, and revenue-generating goals of the VEST Center.
Requirements include a B.S. degree, with an M.S. preferred. RN or allied healthcare degree is preferred, with ACLS certification strongly preferred. Experience as an ACLS instructor is strongly preferred, as well as a minimum of 5 years clinical experience as a healthcare professional.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the use of simulation for education, performance improvement, research, and equipment evaluation
