At Danbury Hospital, we are committed to providing exceptional care and service to our patients and staff. As a key member of our Materials Distribution team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our linen, equipment, and supply distribution systems.

Responsibilities
  1. You will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Materials Distribution area, including coordinating with nursing staff to ensure timely delivery of supplies and equipment.
  2. You will use routine methods or hand-held devices to determine nursing unit usage and maintain proper par levels.
  3. You will track linen distribution and returns from nursing floors and user departments, following all procedures for infection control.
  4. You will perform deliveries of Par supplies and non-par items, including UPS and FedEx, mail, linen requests, equipment, MDC completed orders, and Archives and shipping requests.
  5. You will process linen in the laundry clean room as needed, sorting, folding, assembling, packaging, and wrapping towels, linens, and gown packs for sterilization and distribution.
  6. You will report variances from Materials Management standards to your manager to ensure continuity of operations.
  7. You will instruct and train new employees and students on materials distribution procedures.
  8. You will maintain a safe work environment and report any potential hazards to your supervisor or manager.
  9. You will achieve the organization's established expectations regarding quality service and teamwork in support of customers and their service needs.
