Registered Nurse Weekender Job Description

Cleveland Clinic's Lutheran Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Weekender Flex Program. As a Weekender RN, you will work two 12-hour shifts per weekend and one 12-hour shift during the week, providing high-quality patient care in our 44-bed Medical-Surgical & Telemetry Unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with cardiac, respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, neurological, infectious disease, substance abuse, behavioral health, pre-operative, and post-operative conditions.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients' conditions to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs, and educate patients and their families on post-discharge care.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year of current acute care RN experience, or military RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements:
