Job Summary:

The Sanitation Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the sanitation functions in their designated department/area. This role requires strong leadership and management skills to ensure the team is working safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory agency, customer, and company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs supervisors to ensure sanitation standards, quality, cost, and meeting production goals with on-time delivery of the floors.
  • Ensures supervisors are completing pre-operational paperwork, including all daily paperwork required for safety, payroll, and food safety compliance.
  • Actively participates in group meetings, line meetings, and supervisory meetings to ensure the department works safely, efficiently, and in compliance with governmental, customer, and company policies and procedures.
  • Trains and develops supervisors to provide management depth and develop teamwork to attain department objectives.
  • Performs performance evaluations for supervisory roles in sanitation.
  • Works alongside management on implementation and adhering to company policies related to a clean work environment.
  • Understands and adheres to all union regulations in regards to hourly employees.

Requirements:

  • High School Degree or its Equivalent
  • General working knowledge of computers/technology (e.g., Microsoft Excel and Word)
  • Ability to work in work environments with extreme temperature fluctuations
  • Alignment with JBS Core Values and company culture
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, strong people skills
  • Strong desire to work in a challenging and hands-on environment
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in sanitation or processing industry
