HF Sinclair is on the lookout for a Senior Financial Analyst who will engage in intricate financial evaluations with minimal oversight and serve as a resource for junior team members.

Professional Experience

Applicants should possess at least five years of relevant experience, or eight years in general finance or accounting roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research, perform financial analysis, and develop diverse financial and forecasting models to guide management decisions regarding the effective use of the company's financial resources.
  • Analyze, prepare, and summarize insights for financial strategies, acquisition activities, financial trends, and operational forecasts.
  • Support financial budgeting and planning processes while enhancing management's comprehension of financial data and performance metrics.
  • Examine various financial reports (such as cash management and pricing strategies) and maintain historical financial data.
  • Identify and implement enhancements that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of operational decision-making.
  • Provide analytical support for capital expenditure and cost variance assessments.
  • Prepare, review, and present financial reports to management or the board of directors through various communication methods.
  • May generate and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring the accuracy of financial information.
  • Deliver analysis, reports, and responses to ad-hoc inquiries from management and internal departments.
  • Maintain and ensure the integrity of the company's internal financial database.
  • Foster partnerships and relationships with colleagues and functional leaders.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, making informed and well-reasoned decisions.

Special tasks or assignments may be assigned by supervisors as deemed necessary.

Educational Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's Degree or CPA designation is highly regarded.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in conducting complex financial analyses, advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, and experience with financial software are essential. A strong grasp of finance principles and procedures, along with proficiency in spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications, is required. Candidates should possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously. Effective written and verbal communication skills are crucial, as well as intermediate to advanced mathematical calculation abilities.

Work Environment

This position is office-based, with potential travel requirements of up to 10% by land and air, subject to varying weather and road conditions.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not include supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
