Production Efficiency Specialist

New Flyer of America Inc. is a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses and infrastructure solutions. We are seeking an experienced Production Efficiency Specialist to join our team.
About the Role
We offer a competitive salary, approximately $85,000 per year, plus benefits and opportunities for growth. As a Production Efficiency Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in manufacturing processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and ensure product quality. This role involves identifying and implementing process improvements, collaborating with teams to resolve production issues, creating and updating work instructions, reviewing and analyzing production data, participating in lean manufacturing initiatives, conducting root cause analysis, and supporting manufacturing cell layout design and equipment/tooling selection.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Previous experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in the automotive or heavy-duty manufacturing industry, is required. You should possess strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and process improvement methodologies, such as lean manufacturing and Six Sigma. Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools is essential. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary, as well as the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality are also required. Additionally, you should understand safety regulations and be able to promote a culture of safety. The ability to work weekends is preferred.
