Transportation Training Associate

The Non CDL Permit Trainee participates in a comprehensive training program to learn the skills necessary for route completion and safe driving practices.
This role involves hands-on instruction and classroom learning, with a goal to successfully obtain a CDL permit and license within a designated timeframe. Candidates must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and adhere to safety regulations while working under varying environmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities:- Attend all elements of the training program and actively participate in classroom exercises as well as hands-on instruction.
- Maintain satisfactory feedback from instructors and driver/coaches during the classroom, yard skills, and on-the-road driving portion of the training program.
- Assist designated US Foods drivers in route completion, learning all aspects of the job.
- Successfully enroll in CDL school and obtain a CDL permit license within the first 45 days of the training program.
- Successfully obtain a CDL Class A license within the 90 days of the training program.
- Achieve defined performance expectations during the initial 90-day probationary period of the program.
- Attend all required company meetings and adhere to all safety practices and company policies.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to use or learn to use all equipment, global positioning systems (GPS), and tools used to perform the job.
- Must be able to perform all job functions safely.
- Must be able to work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for the position.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Must successfully complete the DOT written examination for drivers and pass a controlled substance abuse screening test.
- Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
