Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Perioperative Services team at Trinity Health Corporation. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver patient care in the operating room setting, utilizing the Quality Caring Model to ensure individualized care plans are developed and implemented.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement care plans for patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
- Perform pre-operative assessments, including reviewing patient histories and conducting physical examinations.
- Perform scrub functions, including selection and handling of instruments and supplies during procedures.
- Perform circulating functions, including monitoring, recording, and communication of patient condition.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
- Assist with specimen collection, processing, and documentation.
- Educate patients and family members on post-operative care and instructions.
- Plan continuum of care for patients.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program and basic professional nursing degree (with requirement to obtain a BSN/MSN within a specific time frame).
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in a surgical setting (scrubbing and circulating).
