Job Summary:
The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist PRN performs technical procedures, applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology. Regulates equipment used to expose the x-ray image as well as process and organize the image in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs computed tomography (CT) scans on patients to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Operates CT scanners and other imaging equipment to ensure optimal image quality and patient safety.
- Positions patients and adjusts equipment to obtain the best possible images.
- Reviews and interprets images to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
Requirements:
- Registered Computerized Tomography Technician (RCT)
- Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
- State Registered Radiologic Technician
- Associate Degree
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
Working Conditions:
This role requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to radiation. The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist PRN must be able to lift and move patients as needed and work effectively in a team-based setting.
