POSITION SUMMARY

The role involves overseeing, organizing, and coordinating the maintenance operations associated with a designated project. This position requires strong communication and interaction with customer representatives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of the team, maintain product quality, and guarantee timely delivery of aircraft under management.
  • Adhere to repair station protocols and company policies during aircraft or component maintenance activities.
  • Manage all pre-planning activities for assigned projects.
  • Oversee the arrival and timely departure of aircraft.
  • Collaborate with customer representatives to ensure the prompt delivery of necessary documents, materials, or other items during maintenance visits.
  • Coordinate the efforts of hangar maintenance staff, including support shops and inspections, to maintain a progress plan leading to scheduled completion dates.
  • Assist with parts ordering, task estimation, obtaining customer approvals, updating and distributing aircraft status reports, and following up on parts issues and external services as required.
  • Participate in the creation of final documentation packages for customers and reconcile company documents to determine final billing for projects.
  • Supervise all hangar activities, ensuring employee safety, proper handling of hazardous materials, and appropriate use of personal protective equipment and facility tools.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary tools and equipment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Provide regular project status updates to senior management and customers in a professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of time and attendance, personal leave, and billing tasks for customers.
  • Engage in the annual employee evaluation process, including merit and 90-day evaluations.
  • Submit engineering requests as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior management.
  • Recommend specific training for personnel and assist in determining attendees.
  • Review standard operating procedures for accuracy every two years as required.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • A valid A&P License is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Aviation, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • Typically 2-4 years of experience in an Assistant Project/Program Manager role.
  • Experience with regional aircraft; proficiency in assigned aircraft types; must be trained on customer procedures and documentation, demonstrating strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Preferably 3+ years in a leadership role, managing a team of 8 or more.
  • Ideal candidates will possess strong skills in customer and vendor relations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of broad practices associated with Project/Program Management.
  • Ability to apply this knowledge towards the comprehensive management and execution of all Project/Program Life Cycle phases.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and safety protocols, and proficiency in using hand tools and precision instruments.
  • Capability to effectively manage and lead teams.
  • Ability to work efficiently while ensuring safety and quality standards.
  • Proficient in inspecting aircraft systems and components.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and understand panel charts.
  • Understanding of technical data and aircraft schematics to locate part numbers and assist in repairs.
  • Knowledge of machinery and tools, including their design, usage, repair, and maintenance.

WORKING CONDITIONS / ENVIRONMENT / SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work safely and professionally, adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and state and federal regulations.
  • Flexibility to work various hours and shifts as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing as per FAA regulations.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures and environments, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Ability to perform tasks overhead.
  • Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to climb as required.
