Job Title: Senior Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Indiana Packers Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at our world-class processing facility in Delphi, Indiana.

Job Summary:

The Senior Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely and in-depth mechanical troubleshooting and completion of preventative and corrective maintenance of production equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Repair and troubleshoot broken or defective machine parts and maintain them to ensure proper functioning and alignment
  • Work in full compliance with approved safety regulations
  • Complete daily work orders related to equipment and machinery to minimize downtime
  • Identify and repair problematic parts by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts and equipment
  • Identify and correct potential issues
  • Operate machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, hoists, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment required
  • Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent education will be considered in lieu of formal education
  • TIG/Stick welding and fabrication skills
  • Ability to work independently and identify solutions with minimal supervision
  • Resourceful in accomplishing tasks
  • Experience maintaining mechanical drives, chain drives, and conveyor systems
  • Ability to read and comprehend various prints, schematics, and other company-related documents
  • Willingness to be a technical leader within the facility and drive safety for the operation
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes required
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to complete and adhere to all safety training requirements of the facility
  • Hazmat certification a plus
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
Work Environment:

The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in cold, hot, and outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity, and exposure to dust.

The noise level in the work environment can be loud, and hearing protection is required.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support without fatigue.

The position requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination.

The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.

The employee must have excellent stamina and vision.
