Job Title: Firefighter/Paramedic

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Firefighter/Paramedic to join our team at the City of St. Charles Fire Department. As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for performing fire/rescue operations and administering advanced emergency care to the sick and injured.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists in the rescue of persons from physically threatening situations
• Responds to emergency calls and administers basic and advanced emergency medical care to the ill or injured
• Performs critical examination of injured/ill patients
• Performs fire suppression as directed
• Performs equipment and building maintenance
• Prepares and submits various reports as required by the Fire Department
• Assists in providing medical training and medical equipment training to Fire Department personnel as directed by their supervisor
• Performs fire prevention and public fire education as directed

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid state driver's license
• Firefighter I and II certifications that are accepted by the Missouri Division of Fire Safety - preferred
• Current Missouri paramedic license or current licensure with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as a paramedic
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS & CPR Healthcare Provider
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or must be obtained within 6 months of appointment
• Current ITLS or PHTLS Certification, or must be obtained within 6 months of appointment
• One or more years of Emergency Medical Responder - preferred
