  1. Canine Training Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating educational programs, safety training, and dog training initiatives. This role involves managing safety protocols within the organization in a professional, timely, and efficient manner. The supervisor will conduct or assign on-site safety evaluations and lead safety training sessions during staff meetings or training events. It is crucial to ensure that all state, federal, and company documentation is accurate and compliant with legal standards. Additionally, the supervisor will coordinate various dog training schedules and classes, while also developing new training activities and programs. This position reports directly to the General Manager for guidance and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and instruct dog training sessions in alignment with company training guidelines.

• Supervise and mentor other trainers.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws during supervisory duties.

• Select and implement effective training methods suitable for both dogs and their owners.

• Communicate effectively with clients to promote training classes and educational initiatives.

• Inform clients about necessary supplies for successful training and maintaining well-behaved dogs.

• Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote training classes, workshops, and canine education events.

• Monitor and evaluate training sessions to identify strengths and areas for improvement.

• Collect data on training sessions to propose enhancements in policies, procedures, and methods.

• Ensure that training areas are clean, well-equipped, and safe for both clients and dogs.

• Provide guidance to clients in addressing various training and behavioral challenges.

• Inspire clients and their dogs to achieve success and satisfaction with training services.

• Create and update marketing materials, including brochures, to effectively represent the company's services.

• Maintain the company website with current information.

• Follow management directives and take responsibility for personal actions.

• Complete tasks within designated timelines or communicate alternative plans as necessary.

• Prioritize and organize work activities efficiently.

• Set achievable goals and develop actionable plans.

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to personnel, safety, and equipment maintenance.

• Gain proficiency in production and safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures, accident reporting, and hazard communication.

• Facilitate educational classes and training for pets and the public, covering topics such as obedience, agility, tracking, and conformation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to effectively train dogs and communicate with them.

Preferred Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in dog training and behavior.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age and eligible to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience.
