Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Hospitalist to join our team at Gouverneur Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive medical care to patients admitted to our facility, managing acute illnesses, chronic diseases, and post-operative care.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for working in a fast-paced environment. A strong foundation in internal medicine or family medicine is essential, as well as proficiency in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive medical care to patients admitted to the hospital, managing acute illnesses, chronic diseases, and post-operative care.
  • Conduct regular hospital rounds to assess patient progress, make necessary treatment adjustments, and communicate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare team members.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the hospital, including admissions through the emergency department and critical care situations.
  • Collaborate closely with the healthcare team, including nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and specialists, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
