The Registered Nurse - License Pending (RNLP) is a beginning-level nurse, under the direct supervision of a registered or advanced practice licensed registered nurse. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices, with a focus on developing skills and knowledge in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities- Evidence-Based Practice: Utilize evidence-based guidelines, policies, and procedures to guide practice and improve patient outcomes.
- Relationships and Caring: Establish a caring, therapeutic relationship with patients and families through effective communication, empathy, and mutual goal setting.
- Critical Thinking: Apply critical thinking skills to evaluate patient needs, develop and implement plans of care, and recognize changes in patient status.
- Technical Expertise: Safely and effectively use medical devices, administer medications, and implement infection control and fall prevention strategies.
- Leadership: Demonstrate accountability for own professional practice, support unit goals, and develop beginning delegation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with acceptance into an accredited school of nursing prior to hire.
- Current state of Illinois Registered Nursing License.
- Current CPR Certification.
- ACLS within 1 year of hire for ICU, Telemetry, 6west, Endoscopy, PACU, IR, and ED.
- PALS within 1 year of hire for PACU and ED.
The RNLP will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care. The ability to work effectively in a team, communicate clearly, and prioritize tasks is essential for success in this role.
