Performance Foodservice is a leading distributor of food and food-related products. We are seeking a Class A CDL Delivery Driver to join our team. As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner. You will be the face of our company, building lasting relationships with our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include communicating and interacting with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally, performing all required safety checks, and following all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. You will also be responsible for performing damage control checks on items, scanning, and contacting your supervisor about removing orders according to company policy. You will verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures, collect money (cash or checks) where required, and load customer returns onto the trailer and secure the trailer doors. You will also ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured. You will unload damaged goods and customer returns and bring them to the driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork. You will also complete daily records of hours of service and enter them in the log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements. You will perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required. You will also perform other related duties as assigned. Required qualifications include 12+ months commercial driving experience, a high school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent, a valid CDL A, and meeting all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable). You must be 21 years of age, have a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years, pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check, pass a road test, have a valid current DOT Health Card, and be able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout the shift. Preferred qualifications include foodservice distribution industry experience, onboard computer and electronic log system experience, hand-held point of delivery scanning system experience, and customer service-related work experience.
