Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled and dedicated Travel CT Technologist to join their team in Rochester, New York. As a key member of the radiology department, this individual will be responsible for operating computed tomography (CT) scanners to obtain high-quality diagnostic images for patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Preparation and Communication

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure, answering any questions, and ensuring they are comfortable. This may involve verifying patient information, including medical history, allergies, and prior imaging, to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate imaging protocols.

  • Operation of CT Equipment

The successful candidate will be proficient in operating and calibrating the CT scanner, ensuring proper settings for each scan, including parameters such as radiation dose, slice thickness, and imaging protocols. They will also administer contrast agents or dye injections under physician or radiologist guidance to enhance image clarity during certain CT procedures.

  • Image Quality and Review

Responsibilities will include reviewing CT images for quality, ensuring that all required areas are captured and the images meet diagnostic standards. The individual will work closely with radiologists to ensure that images are of sufficient quality to support diagnosis and repeat or adjust scans as necessary to improve image quality or ensure comprehensive imaging coverage.

  • Patient Safety and Comfort

The chosen candidate will be committed to following safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, including using the lowest possible dose for effective imaging and utilizing shielding where appropriate. They will maintain a sterile, safe, and clean environment in the CT room, ensuring all equipment is sanitized between patients.

  • Collaboration and Communication

This role requires strong collaboration and communication skills, working closely with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate imaging procedures and assist in diagnosing medical conditions. The individual will document patient information, scan parameters, contrast media used, and any complications in the electronic health record (EHR).
