Job Description:

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in nursing or a related field
  • Current CRNA certification by NBCRNA
  • Current, unencumbered RN and APRN licenses in Connecticut and Texas
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Minimum of 1 year teaching and administrative experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a CRNA

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Nurse Anesthesia Program Administration to ensure compliance with COA and CCNE accreditation standards
  • Develop and deliver instructional content for the education of nurse anesthesia residents during didactic, simulation, and clinical portions of assigned courses
  • Evaluate and assess current educational needs of the nurse anesthesia residents and participate in the revision of curriculum as needed in conjunction with Program Administration and faculty
  • Teach at the graduate level in the Nurse Anesthesia Program
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, and enrollment of nurse anesthesia residents during the admission process
  • Promote and implement innovative curricular design and education strategies to support resident learning in the nurse anesthesia program
  • Collaborate with the Program Administration to monitor and assess trends in nurse anesthesia practice and education
  • Maintain open communication with nurse anesthesia residents in the program

Requirements:

  • Competence in the use of technology in teaching and distance learning
  • Demonstrated computer skills using web-based applications and Microsoft Office Suite

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assume other didactic duties as assigned
  • Participate in annual clinical site visits in accordance with COA policies
  • Maintain competency within anesthesia practice area
