About the Role

Project Kuiper is an ambitious initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites, providing low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. As a Software Development Manager III, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for developing software and services for the Kuiper Ground Gateway Services, overseeing architecture, solutions, and roadmaps for managing embedded systems within antennas and applications for site maintenance, telemetry, and over-the-air updates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit and develop top talent to achieve team objectives.
  • Establish and steer the team's long-term vision.
  • Manage resource allocation to meet business objectives and career development targets.
  • Participate in strategic planning to achieve technical and business goals.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to design and implement optimal technical designs and strategies.
  • Ensure project timelines are met, prioritizing tasks and managing team workload effectively.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Maintain close collaboration with cross-functional teams to align software development with overall company goals.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices in software development.
  • Provide regular performance feedback and career development guidance to team members.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
