Ophthalmic Technician

The Ophthalmic Technician plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals during the assessment, education, and treatment of patients. This position is integral to ensuring a high standard of patient care and operational efficiency.

• Assist physicians in conducting diagnostic tests and examinations.
• Provide patient education regarding treatment plans and procedures.
• Document patient medical histories and current conditions accurately.
• Perform preliminary tests including visual acuity assessments and pupil evaluations.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist during various office procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage scheduling for surgeries and consultations.

Education: Completion of an accredited two-year program in ophthalmic technology or a related field is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required, with a preference for candidates familiar with OCTs and visual fields.

Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in operating diagnostic equipment such as lensometers, tonometers, and slit lamps is required.
