The Executive & Academic Search team with Curative is collaborating with a prestigious academic institution to conduct a national search for a seasoned academic leader to assume the role of Chair, Department of Pediatric Medicine. This position is pivotal for the leadership, management, and advancement of the Department of Pediatric Medicine.
The Chair will be tasked with providing vision, leadership, and accountability in achieving the research, administrative, and educational objectives of the institution. This role represents a full-time faculty appointment, with rank and compensation aligned with experience and academic achievements.
We are seeking an established academic leader who values research and education. The incoming Chair will have the opportunity to build upon the academic evolution of the department. As the academic head, you will articulate the vision and demonstrate how this academic mission will enhance the success of the physicians and faculty, the department as a whole, and the broader community.
Success in this role will involve ongoing mentorship of current faculty, as well as the recruitment of new, high-caliber academic and clinical faculty to bolster collaborative research, secure extramural funding, and expand educational initiatives.
We are looking for a collaborative and innovative leader capable of engaging across various disciplines and organizational units. The incoming Chair will work with stakeholders to establish a nationally recognized academic and clinical profile for the Department of Pediatric Medicine.
In addition to being a distinguished academic leader, the ideal candidate will be an exceptional clinician with the experience and commitment to steer the operational aspects of the clinical functions within the department. The institution is currently experiencing growth and expansion, with the Department of Pediatric Medicine playing a crucial role in this development.
The Chair will collaborate closely with nursing leadership to formulate a joint clinical care model within the Department of Medicine. Responsibilities will include overseeing clinical services while guiding organizational, programmatic, and academic growth. Additionally, the Chair will manage clinical staffing, oversee clinical service models, and handle the department's financial management.
Applicants should possess completed pediatric medicine training and be board-certified. Furthermore, candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.A. and obtain licensure in the relevant state. National and international recognition for achievements and expertise in pediatric medicine, along with a proven track record of publications and peer-reviewed research funding, is essential. A robust background in academic medicine, encompassing both research (basic and/or clinical) and clinical education, is highly desirable.
