Job Overview:

This position provides leadership, technical support, and expertise for medical technologists, laboratory technicians, and other laboratory staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for orienting new employees, providing compliance education, and ensuring that policies and procedures are followed.

The position involves monitoring quality control, quality assurance, and maintenance logs, as well as troubleshooting instrumentation. The candidate will also be responsible for assisting with the validation of new instrumentation and assays, attending department meetings, and communicating with laboratory staff and management.

This position requires a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, including CAP, CLIA, and Joint Commission standards. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with these regulations and for providing input on performance reviews and personnel issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and technical support to laboratory staff
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Monitor quality control and quality assurance logs
  • Assist with the validation of new instrumentation and assays
  • Attend department meetings and communicate with laboratory staff and management
  • Provide input on performance reviews and personnel issues
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent experience
  • ASCP certification or equivalent
  • 3-4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
