About the Role


Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. is seeking an Ecological Consultant to join our expanding Natural Science team. This role involves conducting field assessments and collaborating on various environmental projects.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting ecological surveys, including wetland delineations and wildlife habitat assessments.
  • Preparing comprehensive studies and technical documentation.
  • Assisting in the development of permit applications at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Creating environmental impact assessments and planning studies.
  • Designing research studies to address significant ecological challenges for our clients.
  • Tracking project milestones and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintaining communication with clients regarding project updates and changes.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to inspire collaboration.
  • Experience in managing project budgets and timelines.
  • BS in Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental consulting.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel to project sites.
  • Proficiency in plant identification and soil analysis in northeastern regions.
  • Knowledge of wetland regulations and environmental permitting processes.
