We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Financial Counselor to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a Patient Financial Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing financial counseling and support to patients and their families, ensuring that they receive the best possible care while navigating the healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Counseling: Provide financial counseling to patients and their families, including explaining financial options, discussing payment plans, and ensuring that patients understand their financial responsibilities.
  • Account Management: Manage patient accounts, including reviewing and resolving billing and insurance issues, and ensuring that patients receive accurate and timely billing information.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring that all parties are informed and engaged throughout the care process.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve complex financial issues, including navigating insurance and billing systems, and ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to ensure that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) - (Required), Associate's Degree - (Preferred)
