Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Floor Technician to join our team at The Arc Southern Maryland. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, shampooing and steam cleaning carpets, and maintaining all equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Provide a safe and clean working environment in a cost-effective manner.
  • Operate and maintain all cleaning equipment, including high and low speed floor machines and carpet machines.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Comply with OSHA standards when disposing of materials.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five years' work experience in commercial cleaning or a related field.
  • Six-month professional experience stripping and waxing floors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
