Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Nashville, TN. As a key member of our Mechanical Engineering group, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to our design resources, as well as assisting in the development and implementation of our decarbonization and electrification growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to design resources on energy engineering and decarbonization/electrification projects
- Assist in the development and implementation of our decarbonization and electrification growth strategy
- Work with project/client managers to provide technical guidance and support to meet client needs and budget
- Collaborate with a team of engineers on a variety of private, public, and federal projects
- Provide business leadership and technical guidance to accomplish project commitments and growth objectives
- Supervise staff in the decarbonization/electrification area and provide technical training and development
- Establish and improve standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for mechanical discipline areas
- Engineer of Record on select projects as needed
- Provide on-the-spot advice and decisions on technical and cost estimates
- Coordinate with client/project managers and department managers to resolve mechanical engineering conflicts
- Assist in office organizational management and evaluation of project opportunities
- Active member/leader of local and national technical organizations
Requirements
- Accomplished mechanical engineer/PE with 20+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of mechanical systems, thermal energy infrastructure, and clean energy technologies
- Experience in technical oversight of multiple projects with proven success in meeting contract specifications and achieving high performance and advanced energy design standards
- Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
