Job Title: Senior Aide

Join the City of Mesquite team as a Senior Aide, providing support to the Athletics and Leisure Services department.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to assist in the preparation and serving of meals, as well as maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of the Senior Center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent the City of Mesquite in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist in the preparation, serving, and control of meals.
  • Prepare homebound meals at designated times.
  • Assist and/or monitor various programs and activities in arts and crafts, and promote neighborhood and community recreation events.
  • Compile simple written records related to assigned programs or facility.
  • Enforce Senior Center policies to patrons.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day cleanliness of the Senior Center.
  • Be dependable and meet acceptable attendance requirements.
  • Follow all applicable safety rules and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of food services facilities, equipment, operation, and program services.
  • Kitchen safety practices, procedures, and rules.
  • Nutrition and social needs of older adults.
  • Pertinent local, State and Federal laws, ordinances, and rules.
  • Health and safety procedures.
  • Good communication techniques and skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the preparation of meals.
  • Current standard First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license.
  • Clark County Health District Food Handler Health Card.
Working Conditions:

Work is performed under the following conditions:

  • Travel to off-site facilities.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and shifting assignments.
  • Respond physically to emergencies quickly and appropriately.

Employees risk physical hazard from working around hot equipment stoves, ovens, and slippery floor surfaces.
