Technical Illustrator

We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Programmer/Designer to join our team at Samuel Son & Co. as part of our new FomUSA Machining Center and Metal Saw department. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of our new processing systems.

• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to understand the requirements for each job and part.
• Create accurate and efficient DXF files from customer prints and other provided information.
• Program and operate the FomUSA machine and Metal Saw using AutoCAD and related software, including FOM FST/CAM4.
• Collaborate with sales to create quotes and optimize production processes.
• Develop and implement effective programs to minimize waste and maximize productivity.
• Plan and optimize the nesting of parts to maximize material usage.
• Establish and maintain tool inventory for the machining center.
• Participate in the inspection process for machined parts.
• Develop and maintain production schedules for the CNC Machining Center.

• Post-secondary education in Engineering or Engineering Technology is preferred.
• Proficiency in reading, modifying, and creating drawings in AutoCAD.
• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
