**Job Title:** Cancer Treatment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cancer Treatment Specialist to join our team at Magnet Medical. This is a travel job opportunity in Edgewood, Kentucky.

**Estimated Salary Range:** $120,000 - $160,000 per year (based on 40 hours/week and 8-hour shifts).

This role involves administering radiation treatments to patients with cancer or other conditions that require radiation therapy. As a Radiation Therapist, you will work closely with oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare providers to develop treatment plans and ensure accurate radiation delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver prescribed radiation treatments to patients, following the treatment plan created by the oncologist and medical physicist.
  • Use specialized equipment, such as linear accelerators, to target tumors with precise doses of radiation.
  • Position patients on the treatment table and ensure proper alignment using imaging techniques such as CT scans or X-rays.
  • Monitor patient responses during the radiation treatment and adjust positioning if necessary to ensure optimal treatment delivery.
  • Deliver treatments in a manner that minimizes exposure to healthy tissue and surrounding areas.


**Patient Preparation and Care:**

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that patients are prepared and cared for throughout the radiation treatment process. This includes explaining procedures to patients, positioning them comfortably and safely for treatment, providing emotional support and reassurance, and educating them about potential side effects and how to manage them.

**Treatment Planning:**

You will collaborate with oncologists and medical physicists to review and implement treatment plans, ensuring accurate radiation delivery. You will also assist in the design and planning of patient-specific treatment techniques, working with a multidisciplinary team to review imaging data and ensure treatment areas are appropriately mapped.

**Quality Control and Equipment Maintenance:**

As a Radiation Therapist, you will operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, conducting daily checks to ensure proper function and calibration. You will report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the physicist or supervisor and follow up to ensure timely resolution.

**Adherence to Safety Standards:**

Strict adherence to radiation safety protocols is essential to minimize exposure to patients, yourself, and other staff members. You will wear appropriate protective equipment, including dosimeters, to monitor radiation exposure and stay up-to-date on safety standards to ensure compliance with local regulations and industry best practices.

**Collaboration with the Healthcare Team:**
