About the Role

The VNA of the Treasure Coast is seeking a skilled Music Therapist to join our team. As a Music Therapist, you will provide music therapy services to clients in need, supporting their mental health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement music therapy assessments with patients and families, in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care.
  • Guide patients in the use of creative therapeutic activities to improve or maintain mental and physical functions and quality of life.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy services with patients.
  • Document all communication and services provided to patients and families in the clinical record.
  • Instruct other care team members in the use of music to achieve individualized care plan goals.
  • Provide in-services to staff, hospitals, nursing homes, and other related facilities as requested.
  • Participate in special events and community programming as appropriate.
  • Follow standards of practice set forth by the American Music Therapy Association and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
Requirements
  • Must have a degree in Music Therapy from a program approved by the American Music Therapy Association.
  • Board Certified as a Music Therapist by the Certification Board for Music Therapy.
  • Minimum six months of clinical hospice experience.
  • Must have a reliable automobile, valid driver's license, and minimum state required liability auto insurance.
  • MS Office and computer proficiency.
