Job Overview

The primary role involves delivering precise and efficient specifications and documentation for computer applications that support various business sectors within the organization. This position demands advanced analytical and documentation capabilities in business analysis, training, implementation, and project management. The analyst will engage in all phases of the project lifecycle, including needs assessment, acquisition or development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.

This role is classified as hybrid, requiring the ability to work on-site and participate in in-person group meetings as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive documentation that illustrates processing logic for both simple and moderately complex business workflows.
  • Engage in all facets of user consulting, business analysis, general systems design, vendor agreements, and detailed business specification creation; gain an understanding of user functions, organizational structure, and roles within the enterprise as needed; serve as a bridge between the IT department and internal clients utilizing IT services.
  • Conduct various analyses, compile reports, and provide relevant information to facilitate decision-making processes.
  • Create and execute testing plans, document results, and prepare quality assurance approvals.
  • Assist in training users on the effective use of business applications and general software.
  • Collaborate with external software vendors as necessary to support the integration of acquired business applications.
  • Guide junior analysts in comprehending general system interactions and requirements.
  • May take on project leadership responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Two to five years of experience in a comparable environment.
  • Experience with XML data is highly desirable.
  • Experience in Property & Casualty Insurance is strongly preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with various business application systems, hardware, and current programming technologies.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with both IT and non-technical colleagues; must possess analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication abilities, and effective telephone etiquette; should be a quick learner, self-motivated, patient, and capable of managing stressful situations; flexibility in working hours, along with initiative, creativity, and sound decision-making skills, is essential.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing; troubleshoot and maintain assigned programs and systems; establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels; exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions; and follow or provide verbal and written instructions as applicable.
