Agency Overview

This position is open to all U.S. Citizens. Previous Federal Service is not a prerequisite. Candidates eligible under CTAP and ICTAP within the local commuting area are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Park Ranger focusing on river patrol duties within the Green River District.
  • Engage with the public to offer guidance, perform permit compliance checks, and conduct safety inspections while patrolling river areas.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, including swift water rescues and providing first aid as necessary.
  • Collect and analyze data concerning recreational resources to identify significant trends.
  • Represent the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) positively and interact with visitors in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner.
  • Carry out advanced facility maintenance and repairs as required.
  • Install and maintain various signage on public lands, including off-road vehicle, wilderness portal, boundary, directional road and trail, and interpretive signs.
  • Conduct monitoring of wilderness areas and perform backcountry patrols.
  • Participate in several multi-day river excursions through class III to class IV rapids.
  • Work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
