We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC). As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for providing independent, timely, and professional structural engineering products, services, and consultation to support the design, construction, and maintenance of facilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other Supported Commands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and prepare structural designs and specifications for facility projects using structural analysis software, AutoCad, and BIM.
- Assess structural condition of facilities to develop recommendations for necessary repairs and modifications.
- Compose technical written and oral correspondence to communicate designs, plans, and objectives to management officials, staff, and customers.
- Review structural designs of projects prepared by in-house designers, AE firms, or Design-Build firms for completeness, technical adequacy, functional design, sound engineering practice, and compliance with applicable design criteria.
- Ensure that the structural aspects of the project are constructed in accordance with contract plans and specifications.
