Pet Care Specialist
As a Pet Trainer at PetSmart, you will be part of a community that shares a passion for pets. Your primary responsibility will be to lead engaging classes for pet parents, teaching them how to care for their pets at various stages of their lives.
You will take part in our Pet Training Instructor Accreditation Program, which will equip you with proven techniques developed by leading dog trainers. Upon completion, you will emerge as a trusted Accredited Dog Trainer, specializing in dog behavior and learning theory.
As a Pet Trainer, you will be hands-on with pets and lead our Pet Training Programs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching classes to a variety of dog breeds, sizes, and ages
- Leading each class with an emphasis on the safety and comfort of pets and pet parents
- Showing patience to pet parents when training their excited puppies
- Guiding pets through our Pet Therapy Training Program
- Building strong bonds with all two-legged and four-legged members of your class
About Your Career
While 'sit' and 'stay' are common words in our classes, they do not describe your career. With PetSmart, you will have opportunities to gain experience in different business units, develop your leadership skills, and transfer to any of our 1600 stores nationwide.
We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment that allows you to grow and develop your skills.
The Warm and Fuzzies
We've highlighted the job responsibilities above, but the best parts of working at PetSmart can't be fully described in the job description. It's the excitement you feel when helping a pet parent choose the perfect food for their pet. It's the pride you feel when a pet parent thanks you for helping them find the perfect toy for their pet. It's the joy of reuniting a pet with their family after a fun stay in our Pets Hotel.
Working at PetSmart is not just a job, it's a community of people who share a passion for pets. We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment that allows you to grow and develop your skills.
