Job Summary

The Head Culinary Director position at Superior Trim will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and workplace standards. This role will partner with the leadership team to cultivate a comfortable environment for customers and staff, while maintaining the highest level of culinary excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Operations Oversight
    • Purchasing and ordering ingredients for menu items
    • Creating and implementing menus
    • Coordinating with front-of-house staff on catering operations
    • Maintaining inventory and managing food costs
  • Staff Management
    • Hiring, training, and developing back-of-house staff
    • Implementing training techniques and delegating responsibilities
    • Approving vacation time and ensuring employee compliance with company policies
    • Addressing disciplinary issues and documenting incidents
  • General Management
    • Ensuring total cleanliness of all properties and facilities
    • Coordinating with front-of-house staff on event planning and execution
    • Managing daily cash counts and financial duties
    • Attending weekly meetings with front-of-house staff to coordinate operations

Qualifications

  • Education
    • High school diploma required
    • 2-year Culinary Arts degree and/or other culinary certification
  • Experience
    • Previous experience in a head chef or managerial kitchen position
    • American Culinary Federation certification preferred
    • ServSafe certification
  • Skills
    • Effective communication and time management skills
    • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
