Job OverviewThe CT Technologist is responsible for performing CAT Scan procedures in accordance with protocols established by the Radiologist. Key responsibilities include:
- Operating the CT scanner during interventional radiology procedures.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, reporting any equipment maintenance issues, and monitoring supplies.
- Adhering to all Infection Prevention policies and utilizing the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintaining current licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Participating in departmental training and staying updated on best practices.
- Exhibiting courteous behavior and a positive attitude through respectful communication with colleagues and patients.
- Understanding the importance of delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Engaging in clinical activities, such as assisting with patient flow and optimizing patient throughput in Radiology Transport.
- Complying with timekeeping regulations and departmental procedures, including life safety, fire and hazardous waste, Radiation Safety, and Infection Prevention requirements.
- Attending staff meetings and daily huddles to remain informed about departmental communications.
- Participating in on-call and holiday coverage as required.
Experience in General, Trauma, and Emergency Department settings is required. Experience with Pediatrics and Cardiac imaging is preferred but not mandatory.
Education RequirementsGraduation from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technologist Program is required. Enrollment in or completion of a qualified Computed Tomography program is preferred.
License/Certification RequirementsCurrent BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) is required.
Current ARRT License (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) is required.
Current NJ-RADTECH License (Radiologic Technologist) is required.
ARRT Board Certification in Computed Tomography is preferred; if not obtained at the time of hire, it must be achieved within 12 months of employment.
