The Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring that all server-related tasks are executed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a Windows Active Directory environment along with all necessary applications, including Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint Server, Maximo, and Configuration Management.
  • Construct, oversee, and enhance network servers, particularly Windows 2008/2012 servers.
  • Provide support for specialized software utilized by military branches and command functions.
  • Utilize computerized ticketing systems to monitor and document activities.
  • Identify potential issues and opportunities, addressing them proactively.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations of program performance and collaborate with clients to resolve operational challenges and metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, values, and client requirements.
  • Deliver technical assistance and troubleshooting support to users.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant technologies.
  • Provide on-call support outside of standard business hours as needed.
  • Employ customer service skills to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effectively manage changes in project scope, identifying challenges and developing contingency plans.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement policies in alignment with DoD and DoN STIGs and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is necessary.
  • Experience in implementing new Windows-based technologies is essential.
  • Familiarity with common Windows infrastructure components such as antivirus, file services, print services, SharePoint, SQL Server, and Exchange is required.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and the MS Office Software Suite is expected.
  • Experience in System Administration within enterprise-class Windows server environments is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Microsoft Active Directory administration is necessary.
  • A Top Secret clearance is mandatory.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Must achieve Microsoft certification, MCSE, or equivalent within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of common Windows infrastructure components is essential.
  • Understanding of help desk operations, support technician functions, and Active Directory is necessary.
  • Ability to use and install relevant hardware, software, and equipment is required.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting desktop operating systems and associated hardware/peripherals is expected.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues is essential.
  • Strong communication and time management skills are required.
