Salary: Estimated $120,000 - $160,000 per year based on industry standards and location.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team at a leading mission-critical data center developer in Sterling, VA. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the electrical systems of our state-of-the-art data centers, ensuring 99.999% uptime and optimal performance.

About You:

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Power Systems Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in critical facility operations and maintenance. Your expertise in UPS systems, diesel generators, medium voltage switchgear, power distribution equipment, fire suppression, security, and BMS systems is essential for this role. You will supervise a team of electrical technicians, manage subcontractors, and work closely with IT managers to optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage routine and emergency services for critical systems, including diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
  • Supervise the on-site management of sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with established practices and procedures.
  • Develop project plans, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on data center infrastructure, capacity, and performance.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.
  • Schedule work activities within specified change control/management protocols.
  • Maintain a constant state of readiness in support of the mission goal of 99.999% uptime.
Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of experience in data center/critical facility operations and maintenance.
  • Solid understanding of critical power, electrical power systems, and equipment.
  • Experience supervising or managing technical staff (critical facilities technicians).
  • Certifications/training in electrical designations.
  • Experience working with electrical trades, a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience interfacing and supporting customers.
