KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report to the Section Manager within a dynamic team of over 43 engineers specializing in electronics and electrical systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Electrical Engineers, either as a Team Lead or as a key contributor on various projects.
  • Oversee the entire design process from initial concept through analysis, manufacturing, and operational testing.
  • Provide expert guidance and support in multiple facets of electronics system development.
  • Familiarize with industry standards and specifications for electronic components.
  • Design and implement component testing architectures.
  • Create and refine electrical component and laboratory instrumentation testing systems.
  • Develop and modify software using LabVIEW for various testing applications.
  • Establish comprehensive test verification protocols.
  • Work alongside technicians to construct and evaluate designed systems.
  • Design and assess breakout boxes and sensor emulation systems.
  • Conduct evaluations and selections of instrumentation such as pressure transducers and flow meters.
  • Troubleshoot and repair existing testing systems.
  • Engage in analog and digital printed circuit board design tailored to specific applications.
  • Develop software modules for targeted testing procedures.
  • Collaborate with eCAD designers to produce printed circuit board layouts.
  • Operate within a laboratory setting, adhering to established protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

This position is open at various levels based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required due to the nature of sensitive information.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience in systems engineering is essential.
  • Proficient understanding of system requirements and verification processes.
  • Experience with circuit design for analog printed circuit boards.
  • Familiarity with SPICE simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of power quality and supply design.
  • Experience with grounding and bonding techniques.
  • Familiarity with power supply design for motor control systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with generators and electronic load banks.
  • Knowledge of power supply remote sensing and distribution for PCB layouts.
  • Familiarity with Altium or similar PCB design tools.
  • Understanding of data interface protocols such as Ethernet and RS protocols.
  • Experience with test equipment including oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Background in cable design and analog instrumentation systems.
  • Experience with FPGA design and VHDL coding.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Subversion (SVN).
  • Experience with data acquisition systems, particularly National Instruments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position requires onsite presence.
  • Offers a flexible 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off.
  • Some travel may be necessary.
