About the Role

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies.
  • Support the drug inventory process, including rotation and restocking of drug dispensing areas.
  • Prepare medications and load/unload medications into automated medication dispensing cabinets.
  • Deliver and fill controlled substances and other medications to nursing units' automated medication dispensing cabinets.
  • Assist in reconciling all narcotic discrepancies on a daily basis.
  • Participate in departmental quality-assurance and safety activities for drug usage, infection control, and handling hazardous materials.

Requirements

  • Valid New Jersey Pharmacy Technician registration or 180 day waiver.
  • PTCB or ExCPT Certification Required within 6 months of start of employment.
  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
