SQL Database Engineer Job Description

Grow your career as a SQL Database Engineer with a leading global bank. This contract role offers a strong possibility of extension and requires working a hybrid schedule with 2-3 days onsite per week.

About the Role

You will work alongside some of the smartest minds in the industry who are excited to share their knowledge and to learn from you. As a SQL Database Engineer, you will be responsible for partnering with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resolve high-impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
  • Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and senior management to influence behavior and decision making.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent area of study.
  • 5+ years of strong experience with Stored Procedures, Functions, and SQL scripting for Postgres Database.
  • 5+ years of working knowledge of database structure.
  • 5+ years of strong working experience in SQL and has data experience.
  • Used to working in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.
  • Very strong in terms of coding practices and code optimization.
  • Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards.
  • Solid understanding of database structures and comfortable with large data sets.
Desired Skills
  • Python experience.
  • Experience using JIRA, Confluence, Postgres, PGAdmin, and Datagrip.
