Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Optical Systems Design Engineer to join our team at Applied Materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance optical systems used in the semiconductor industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of the design cycle, from specification development to integration.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to design critical optical sub-assemblies.
  • Design and evaluate optical systems.
  • Develop alignment strategies and tooling.
  • Develop and maintain error budgets and define subsystem level requirements.
  • Use customer and system requirements to derive design specifications.
  • Define and execute system test plans.
  • Support system MFG activities and customer site teams.
  • Support escalations pertaining to manufacturing of optical modules and failure analysis.
  • Write and present technical reports.
  • Lead and/or execute engineering projects and spearhead research and development of new technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 10 years of experience in optical design and development.
  • Strong technical knowledge of optical design and systems.
  • Experience working in a product development environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
