Custodian Position

Job Summary:

The Fairport Central School District is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school buildings and grounds. Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of school buildings and grounds
• Performing general cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and buffing floors
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment, including hand tools and power equipment
• Providing cleaning and custodial assistance to students, teachers, and visitors as needed
• Ensuring the safety and security of our buildings and grounds

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

Working Conditions:

• Works in standard office and school building environments
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals, solvents, and contaminated trash, grasses, pollens, etc.

Physical and Mental Demands:

• Ability to work above ground from ladders and automatic lifts
• Ability to perform work according to standard procedures and schedule set forth by supervisor(s)
• Ability to work in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow
