About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomist/Mental Health Technician to join our team at Northern California Behavioral Health System. As a key member of our Adolescent Treatment Program, you will provide direct patient care to individuals with emotional or psychiatric disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, centrifuge, and transport blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Participate in treatment planning by identifying patients' problems, needs, and strengths, and suggesting modifications to their treatment plans based on observations of their behavior.
  • Provide input during shift report and discharge planning to ensure seamless transitions for patients.
  • Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to implement patients' treatment plans, monitor their progress, and communicate information regarding their behavior.
  • Maintain open communication with patients, family members, and referral sources to promote effective support systems.
  • Facilitate didactic, educational, and community groups within the context of the adolescent treatment program to encourage patient participation and engagement.
  • Supervise patients during activities to ensure their safety and involvement in therapeutic activities.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for patients, adhering to our organization's standards and protocols.
  • Assist patients in carrying out daily living tasks as outlined in their treatment plans.
  • Perform various administrative duties to support patient care and department operations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of Phlebotomy class also desirable.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, with a minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience.
  • Certification in Phlebotomy is required.
  • Ability to maintain approved CPR certification and complete Management of Assaultive Behavior training, including restraint and seclusion policies.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Estimated salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
